One Bob Ward has sent a letter to the British television regulatory agency and to producer Martin Durkin, arguing that the documentary should be suppressed because of "misrepresentations of the scientific evidence and interpretations of it by researchers," according to an e-mail by Ward. As a director of Risk Management Solutions, Ward consults for the world's biggest insurance companies, including AXA, Swiss Re, and the Chubb Group. He is a former Director of Communications for the British Royal Society. His letter was cosigned by 37 so-called climate "scientists."

"The reason they want to suppress `The Great Global Warming Swindle' is because the science has stung them," Durkin said in reply to the letter. "Look at the mountains of absurd nonsense peddled in the name of 'man-made climate change'. How many of these people complained when Hurricane Katrina was blamed on global warming? This letter is gutless. The DVD will be on sale shortly at a shop near you," he told today's The Scotsman .
